A quick and flavorful one-pot meal featuring lean ground turkey and tender orzo pasta, perfect for a wholesome weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and garlic; sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add ground turkey, season with salt, pepper, and oregano, and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Stir in orzo pasta, mixing well to combine with the turkey and aromatics.
  5. Add chicken broth and diced tomatoes, bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in grated Parmesan cheese until creamy.
  8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For extra creaminess, stir in a splash of heavy cream or a dollop of Greek yogurt before serving.
