Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla until creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in flour mixture.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out cookies and place them on prepared baking sheets.
  9. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
  10. Cool cookies on wire racks before serving.
