  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, brown sugar, ground ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh grated ginger, and lemon juice. Toss until apples are evenly coated.
  3. Transfer the apple mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, rolled oats, chopped walnuts, and salt to create the topping.
  5. Sprinkle the oat and walnut mixture evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
