This creamy garlic Parmesan chicken pasta is a comforting and flavorful Italian-inspired dish featuring tender chicken, rich Parmesan cheese, and a savory garlic sauce tossed with pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fettuccine)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Cook chicken breasts for 5-6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove from skillet and slice into strips.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer.
  6. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and the sauce thickens slightly.
  7. Season sauce with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  8. Return sliced chicken and cooked pasta to the skillet. Toss to coat everything evenly in the sauce.
  9. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through, then garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a handful of sun-dried tomatoes or steamed broccoli when tossing the pasta in the sauce.
