Mashed Potatoes

Creamy and fluffy mashed potatoes made with butter and cream, perfect as a comforting side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the peeled and cut potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Add butter, heavy cream, and milk to the potatoes.
  5. Mash the potatoes using a potato masher or hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Serve warm as a delicious side dish.

Notes

For extra fluffy mashed potatoes, warm the cream and butter before adding to the potatoes. Garnish with chopped fresh chives or parsley for added color and flavor.
