Caprese Skewer

A fresh and vibrant Caprese Skewer combines juicy cherry tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and aromatic basil for a deliciously simple Italian appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 20 cherry tomatoes
  • 20 fresh mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 20 small wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves gently and pat dry.
  2. On each wooden skewer, thread one cherry tomato, followed by a fresh basil leaf, then a mozzarella ball, and finish with another cherry tomato.
  3. Arrange the assembled skewers on a serving platter.
  4. Drizzle the skewers evenly with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic glaze.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For an added zing, sprinkle some dried oregano or drizzle with pesto before serving.
