Delight in this easy, naturally sweetened Chocolate Date Bark—perfectly combining rich chocolate and chewy dates for a healthy, satisfying treat.

Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate (70% cacao)
  • 1 cup pitted Medjool dates, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds or walnuts)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and sea salt.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly to about 1/4-inch thickness.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped dates and nuts evenly over the melted chocolate, pressing gently to adhere.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 1 hour or until the chocolate is fully set.
  7. Break the set chocolate into irregular pieces and serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

For an extra flavor twist, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or a few flakes of chili powder on top before chilling.
