This Cheesy Breakfast Casserole is a hearty and delicious dish perfect for starting your day with melted cheese, eggs, and savory bread baked to golden perfection.

  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 cups cubed bread (day-old works best)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cooked breakfast sausage, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Add cubed bread, cooked sausage, green onions, and 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese to the egg mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Slice and enjoy!
